Hi guys I own a 1987 Callaway Corvette imported from the States 6 years ago, love the car but recently it is hard to start when cold. Goes like a scaulded cat when running, I have to use aerostart to get it started but once warmed up can turn it off and a day later will start again. but any longer have to start it with aerostart again, live in Australia so my mechanic knows nothing about these cars. Have replaced fuel modulator made no differance. Any advice would be appreciated 87C
Its very tricky diagnosing faults over the internet - could be the coolant temp sensor, but who knows ?
might have to look for a mechanic that has a better understanding of basic fault diagnosis.
Hi Assui. Have you joined the Callaway Owners Group? There’s a wealth of info there on the Callaway Corvettes and longtime owners that will help you. I know that non Callaway Corvettes have a cold start injector that adds fuel when starting, so you could see if that’s the problem with your 87. Kevin
Do a leak down test on your fuel rail. See if your car is holding pressure. If its not holding pressure your fuel injectors could be leaking flooding your cylinders. That would cause the need for starting fluid.

The Chevrolet ECU software is pretty much the same as the Holden software (no surprises there!).
Anyone who can use/tune the Holden software can do it with the Chevrolet/corvette.
Maybe find a different mechanic?
Where are you in Oz?
