Convert Non C4 4L60e to C4
In the C4s, the output shaft was ~15mm shorter than normal. I am part of the large facebook group for LS swapped C4s, and many people have used a standard length tailshaft without issue.
When I've discussed it with a few 4L60e builders, they weren't aware of it, and I haven't seen any C4 specific shafts available on the market. I ended up cutting mine down and chamfering the edge to look exactly like the 4L60 that came out of mine, when I swapped in a built 4L60e. I've had no issues, run for a year behind a 600 hp LS2.
The C4 shaft isn't likely to move much on the slip yoke, since the trans and diff are locked together with the C4, so as long as its not close to bottoming out, there isn't too much risk with running the standard shaft length.
