Default Intake Manifold Hose/Sensor Identification

So i'm replacing my intake gaskets to fix the infamous china wall oil leak on my '95 LT1. I used Ozzstar's excellent video (https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...=intake+gasket) for reference.

When pulling the intake manifold out, I had a hose/sensor connected to the front part of the manifold on the barb shown just underneath where the throttle body is attached. Does anyone know what this tube is? I am missing the first few sections out of my FSM, so I don't have access to my vacuum diagrams or anything like that. I've attached pictures of the hose/sensor below.

I've been looking into this and trying to find some diagrams to no avail. It does look like the end of the hose has a PCV valve that looks similar to the one here:ACDelco Professional Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve | Parts (gmparts.com).

I am going to continue digging to see what I can find, but please chime in if you have any info that might be useful!

The assembly that you have in your snapshot looks to be what's found on maybe '95 - '97 F-body maybe OR '96 LT1/4 Corvette. PCV in '95 was plumbed differently. The port on the front of the intake you have in your other image in '95 might have been originally maybe smaller diameter and intended for the 'vented' opti.

This is I believe a 'correct' '95 LT1 intake but it ain't mine!!!

This post is a comparison of F-body & '96 Corvette routing and also has other interesting comments. The vented opti is the last link in that thread.

The port under the throttle body is for the opti spark ventilation. Yours appears to have been changed to a larger diameter port. Your PCV valve is on the driverside and is the U shaped hose.

YES! That is exactly what I discovered last night digging through all of this. I guess I missed it as I pulled it out with everything else that was attached to the intake. I bought this car knowing it was a project, but I am starting to think this is not the original motor at this point based on a few other small changes I've noticed on certain components. Thank you for the help!

Yeah I am starting to think this isn't the original motor with the car based on the intake differences and a few other component differences. I am 90% sure I pulled vacuum hoses from the driver's side of the intake manifold that were for the vented opti. I'll have to double check when I'm back in the garage. Thank you for your input!

If you believe it's maybe NOT original you could check the 'block' for the VIN Derivative and maybe sort it. It's maybe a conglomeration of sorts. You could ID for certain likely the origin of the block. It could be from most anything!!! There certainly should be a VIN Derivative if it was an original install from a GM assembly plant. The 1st digit of the 'Derivative' isn't necessarily only ' 1 or 2' as this image hints. The consistent digit would be the '2D' which is the year indicator.

I'm not having much luck finding this VIN derivative, but i've also been pre-occupied with getting these new gaskets in and a few other things cleaned up. I'll keep you updated on what I find.
