I'm finally putting my rebuilt motor back into my car. Prior to sending it in, I took all the sensors off because I'm going to get all new ones.
Does anyone know the names and locations for the ones that screw into the motor?
Is it a good idea to use some kind of teflon tape as I'm putting them back in?
Thanks
Nope, no tape, but you should adhere to the torque specs recommended. I have listed them in inch pounds first, then foot pounds to alleviate any confusion:
Controller, ECM..................................... .........26 in. lb.
MAP Sensor Bolt.................................... ........ 50 in. lb
Throttle Position Sensor Attaching screws.........18 in. lb.
Engine Coolant Temp Sensor...........................17 ft. lb.
Engine Oil Temp Sensor.................................. 10 ft. lb.
Oxygen Sensor.................................. .............30 ft. lb.
.. I had to use an easy out because I miss read the inch for foot lbs!..
My apologies, BIG K. I just assumed you Army guys could handle a combo of specs in one transmission. I should have sent two emails...... :yesnod: (Go Navy!)
