Good Day, need advise on the low coolant fan switch same as in the photos (From Eckler's) which kicks off the fan at 195f and stop at 180f approx.
did anyone install this or similar?
and is it as easy as removing the stock cooling switch/sensor in the front of the engine just below the throttle body and replace it with this switch? and of course the wiring.
or needs other things to do?
its a 1991 auto, coupe.
The CTS on the plenum front is for the ECM - yours' in the snapshot isn't intentioned for there and on a 1991 shouldn't be needed. On a '91 if you wanted to do the switch in your image it would be added between 1 & 3 in the cylinder head. You've already bought or 'just asking'?

Hey Dave, I already bought it.. the instructions that came with the part is not clear …

Is it worth it anyway?
I believe a foolish buy. Are there other early C4 owners near you?
You do want to replace the actual CTS (front of plenum) and I'd think it could be purchased 'locally'. There are many GM that use that same CTS. Is there a GM Dealer near your Dubai location?

I bought it along back, you should see how hot it gets here in the summer!!
I didn’t have the chance to do it… but now since I’m working on it .. why not.
If it is the side one (between 1 &3) or the front one? Either one is doable but wanted to check if it required any additional work or connection or just pull the stock and insert the new…
and yes there is a GM dealer but for such old cars it is rarely to find any parts thats why I opt to ship from the states…

Gets HOT everywhere in the summer!!
Because I believe it actually might defeat a good cooling fan strategy already in the ECM PROM,

There currently isn't one (between 1 & 3). Would require substantial wiring modifications.
The actual CTS (ECM) front of plenum fits many newer GM and I'd imagine the local to probably have a 'handful' in stock. It would be considered maintenance for the intake service you're doing.

The main reason of replacing the CTS with the part I have (or other part if required) is to kick off the fans at a lower temp than stock.
