Default pre-90 amp location

Where would be a good spot to put a 7" square amp. I was thinking the cubby hole but dont want to start cutting a bunch of holes in the car for routing. I an sure there is a spot under the dash somewhere but I dont want to wait for the car to be put back together. Doing all the wiring and carpet right now.

I have two under my seat. One Class D mono block for my two subs and a little 2 channel for the 6 1/2 inch door speakers.

Default Amp

How much room, thickness, under the seat? What about behind the seat. Seems like an amp needs cooling properties, ie not mounted to carpet.

It depends on the amp. I have a Skar audio mono block and an Alpine 2 channel for the door speakers under my seat. The Skar says it only needs 1 inch of air gap above it. It won't fit under a power seat obviously. So as long as you have a manual seat on the passenger side or if you have converted the drivers side to manual like I did you can fit lots of amp. But you're going to want to measure exactly how much space you have and see how much you need based on the specs of the amp you want to use.

But you could also mount one behind a seat. As long as it had enough space around it.
