Default Wells MAF??

Anyone know the years and/or pn's for the different MAF's. I see them on Ebay PN SU145, and he lists Corvette 86-89, but I seem to remember something changing around 87 or 88. I'd like to upgrade to this unit for $75, since mine has broken. Anyone have any experience with this part? Thanks.

I did not have great success with mine. I tried one to see if it was any better than my ported bosch unit and I got repeated code 34's. Maybe that's because I have a 383 and the extra airflow is messing with the ecm. I'm not sure but I was thinking of trying it again after I get into chip burning. I think I might be able to tweak a table that has the MAF parameters spelled out. Just a hunch.

DON'T BUY THAT ONE! I bought one of those, I'm not sure if this is the same guy as I bought mine from but that part is actually for 86-87 and his auction claims it will fit in an '89. I'm still trying to get my money back from him. :boxing

Before I found out it wasn't for my 89 I installed it and after about 15 minutes of highway driving it started bucking like a bronco. I swapped it out with my old one a couple of times to be sure that was the problem and it was!

Here is that parts true description:

Wells SU145 - Mass Air Flow Sensor - Chevrolet Camaro 5.0L 1986-87; Camaro 5.7L 1987; Corvette 5.7L 1986-87: Pontiac Firebird 5.0L 1986-87; Firebird 5.7L 1987. Original GM # 14094712

That might explain why mind didn't work well. I am running a custom chip based on the ARAP bin which is a '89 bin.

Hmm, well I already bought it, so I'll probably give it a try. I called a parts house that the thirdgen guys use for these parts, and his records show the SU145 for 86-89 Vette. If I have problems, I wasted my money; but I like the idea of the extra CFM. Thanks for the input fellas!
