ejf,

Last summer I added an LT4 HotCam kit to my '96 A4 coupe. My plan was to add the new cam and then add a new TC next year. I have to say that the drivability of the car was greatly affected by adding the cam and having the factory TC. I had the ECM retuned but the factory TC would just not slip enough at stoplights and such without the car lurching very badly. it almost seemed like a safety issue. I had to put my foot thru the brake pedal to keep it under control. If my foot ever slipped off the pedal, I was going to nail the guy in front of me! I've certainly read many people saying that they could live with the factory TC very well but I could not.

I added a Yank 3000 TC and that made the car fun to drive again (at least in town traffic). Maybe you won't have the same experience that I had but be aware that it might be the case. Good luck with your mods.

Regards,
RayJay :)

THE SPECS FOR THE HOT CAM SHOULD BE 218/228 DURATION @50 AND 525 LIFT BUT WITH 1.6 ROCKERS. IF YOU TAKE THOSE AND COMPARE THE NUMBERS ALMOST MATCH. DONT FORGET THE CAM SPECS YOU LISTED ARE WITH 1.5 ROCKERS.

The specs I have on the LT4 hot cam are 218/226 @ .050 and .492/.492 lift with 1.5 rockers
and the specs on Comp Cam 502 are 050 218/224 @ .050 495/503 lift with 1.5 rockers

I am just woried about the duration with a stock converter I think I am going to go with the 845 Cam 214/224 488/509 with 112 LS using 1.5 rockers it has a little les duration than the Hot cam and I think it will be a little more driveable on a day to day basis any feed back is welcome
