700R4 issues

Ok guys,
latest is as follows, I put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail, primes to 40 psi as it should and stays there on tick over in neutral or parked.
However when in gear fwd or reverse it intermittently drops fuel pressure and stall but sometimes picks up and drops until it stalls.
The fuel pump is new, but I had to cut and shut the original C4 internals to get them in the truck tank.
Could it be a pinhole in the pick up pipe that sucks air now and then or due to the fact it’s ok on tick over that it’s electrical intermittent fault linked to the transmission wiring ?.
Any help greatly appreciated.

IHBD thanks for the reply,
I have used the original C4 wiring loom but removed wires I thought I didn’t need I.e. cruise control, SIPS etc so will check with the wiring diagram's. I still have abs hoping to keep that system but maybe this could be an issue also.
I’ll hot wire the pump and see what happens, I’ll let you know.
