I put a Summit 8710R1 - 230/242 .625/.605 113+3 LSA camshaft in my 6.0 w/ LS3 top end that is in my '84. I installed it back in June but just got around to having it tuned. It is quite a bit choppier than the 220/224 .575/.575 112 cam that it replaced.
That sounds nice! How's it drive?
What's your input on the Summit cam? I'm hiking of running the 8715R1 (Stage 1 ghost cam) in my 6.0 with boost but haven't seen too much in the reviews area.
I am super pleased with how she drives. Tiny sluggishness right off idle compared to the old cam but other than that, the new cam seems to make better power everywhere else. Could be that I had poor tuning with the old cam setup but it would bog a little when doing a 2nd gear roll from 35-40. With the new cam, it is more like... welcome to the party.
That LSA is taming it a lot in the video. I'd have expected more chop... Idle around 950? I would say if you didn't have any advance on the old cam the +3 is definitely why the bottom feels way better.

Small world. I also started out with the 220/224 .575/.575 112LSA cam in my 84. Then I went with the Summit stage 2 for the 6.0L 226/238 113+3, .600/.600.
The tune wasn't right yet in my video. But it wasn't horrible. Mine also didn't seem to have as much low end snap as the old cam. That Elgin 220/224 really is a great street cam for almost any LS.
