1995 - Code 16 & Optispark Diagnostic
On the way home from town yesterday, on the highway with cruise set ~70, car just randomly died. No noticable hiccups, just died like I turn the key off. Wouldn't restart in neutral. Pulled over, put in park, cycle key and fires right up like nothing happened. About 2 mile later, exact same thing. Then around 6 or 7 miles after that, dies at stop sign down the street from my house. More reluctant to start but does and make it back. Looks like a few drips of red/orange liquid on my floor where the car was parked but only a tiny amount (water pump?). I checked to make sure all the plugs were tight in the battery area because I had it out the other day for access to the pesky cruise vacuum line into the cab. everything was plugged in well and nothing loose. DTC 16- no signal low res. Are there any other diagnostic steps I should take before condemning this opti? Car has been dead nuts reliable until yesterday and has a touch over 91k miles.
