I believe there are 2 short bolts and 2 studs. Looking at the front of the engine where does the right stud go, upper or lower hole?
I believe there's actually 3 studs and a single bolt maybe. Both right side would be studs (1 longer than the other). 6B-7 (Fig 6B-2) in the FSM seems to agree. Looking at the water pump it should be obvious which is upper and lower. Do you believe you have the hardware?
My 85 with 65K that I just replace the pump on recently has 2 bolts on the drivers side and 2 studded bolts on the passenger. Here's the thread I posted. The repair procedure I took is last post in the thread.

It is somewhat long though I'm not sure of the exact measurement. I do know the one's at O'Reilly's were too short. Amazon showed this one and I believe it is a direct replacement. It appeared to look like the one in my water pump. I was going to purchase it but I was able to easily remove the old one. Here's the link for a visual.
On my 85 which I did about two months ago there were two bolts on the driver's side and two studs on the passenger. I don't remember which stud goes where, but if you take your ac bracket and look at how it mounts on the water pump you can slide the studs in to figure out which goes where.
This is the part I bought for my new water pump:
