84 dipstick
I appears that the 84 dipstick is unique from the other l98's, Why?

For starters because the 'tube' is different also!

Perhaps it’s because the 84 C4 was the only C4 that had Crossfire Injection. Maybe it had to do with the length of the dipstick tube. If the tube were a different length, than the stick itself would have to be also.

The 84 did not have the L98 engine. It had the cross fire which was a carry over from the 82 model year.

'84 and '85 pans are the same - depending on which you have or buy you might need 'reinforcements' to match. If you had an '84 stick and tube there would be no issues!

That means they redesigned the L83 for the 84 year. L82's used in 70s vettes have drivers side tubes.
