Why are these so hard to find new. Nothing on Rockauto.
Here is a question about the ESC. If I went carbureted and did away with the injection and ECU computer. Would I still need this ESC for the car to run and does it work with the module in the distributor.

It is not needed. It signals the ECU when a knock is detected. You could actually keep it with the carb and connect it to a LED.
It is a short video where I knock on the exhaust with some metal.
