I have to rebuild my 350 lt1 in my 95 since it blew a head gasket. The engine has a vortech v2 supercharger and computer was programed by the dyno shop when I first got it 5 years ago. Now that I have to rebuild it, if I make it a 383 and maybe change to a more aggressive cam will I have to have the computer reprogrammed for the new displacement and cam. I'm also going to buy an msd opti, any suggestions on other brands. I figured I'd change my opti now because its original with 100000 miles on it. Also looking for the best quality water pump to replace my gm that sprung a leak.
I'll only comment on the tuning but... if you're changing displacement and cam parameters... I'd say yes... the l tune would probably need to be pretty heavily adjusted.
The guy that dyno tuned it "burned an ecm" for it when the engine was built for the supercharger. I'm an old school guy and this is my first ecm controlled vehicle so I'm learning at 63 years old. I figured if it's out, is it worth it or just leave it as is. I was impressed with the way it ran and the power it had.
Sorry to hear about the head gasket. Downtime.
Fairly average mileage. breaking down, HG
94 - 95 computer has twin 512 flash memory. Programing this pcm. similar to OBD II.
takes about 2 min. Very simple. Great tuning features.
Minor setbacks. Mixing up EE vs EEb definition/s.
Dash refresh. Interfering while flashed.
occasional bricking flash memory.
