Default Cannot get one wheel back on car

I must be an idiot but having trouble putting one wheel back on. Just installed new rotors and pads on 91 . just finished the driver rear and for the life of me cannot get the wheel back on the studs and had no problem with the other 3. Best I could see is only one stud lining up with the wheel hole. I have never had this problem on any car but this has me crazy. Appreciate any thoughts, ideas, tips as to what I am doing wrong. Only difference on the rear rotors is there are two additional holes but the rotor went on just fine just like the other rear rotor.. thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Are the caliper and pads properly mounted? That would be my first lead for why the wheel will not align with the studs.
If the car is on a hydraulic jack, did the jack settle any?

If you can get the tire aligned with the studs and one will show through, I assume it's either the caliper is sticking out or the jack is in the way. Slip the tire on and start the lugnut on the one you can start and look underneath the car and see if the jack is preventing the tire from moving in. Logic says it's either the caliper or jack is restricting getting the tire on.
If it's the jack, get out your scissors jack and use that to raise the car and move the bottle jack out of the way. If not the bottle jack then look at the caliper and see if it is mounted properly.
Best guess without seeing the car. Good luck.

Full disclosure, I’m not a C4 owner but that caliper looks way too high. The center of the piston is at the major diameter of the rotor.

The number of threads showing on the bottom right stud is much less than the top, the rotor may be at an angle.

Rotor is definitely not seated correctly.
Take assembly apart & reinstall

Did you get one of the front and rear rotors mixed up ? Is that the right hat for the rear ?

rotor is seated. the darn studs just wont line up. The hub is in same position as when I took old rotor off, the new rotor went on fine and same position as the old rotor. no matter how I turn the wheel the studs are just off line from the hole, cant understand how it changed when the hub never turned, trans is in Park..Checked other side caliper and it is in same relative position on rotor as trouble side, Even if I can see one stud lined up the others do not , they hit back side of wheel .

The studs did not change unless you changed the wheel bearing/hub, did you do that ?? If you did not change the wheel bearing hub the studs are the same. The rotor is only around the studs and goes over them. The only other thing that could be in the way are the E brake pads. You are going to have to get on the ground and line the studs up. If the same wheel was on the same car before the rotor change the problem is the installation. You need to take it apart and start over.

Going to try and rotate rotor 90 degrees. Then calling rotor supplier and see if it could be wrong spec. They only marked one with R for fight side and it is fine but this one with no mark could be suspect although it went in hub just fine. Hub was not removed so that isn't the problem . There is always one thing that makes a simple job take forever. And at 80 yo I'm getting a good workout lifting that big tire and wheel up and down . My C 5 has been a dream to work on vs this C4 particularly jacking up. I won't give up.

Let’s see photos of the other rotors with the wheels installed.

Without the tire, put the lugnuts on the studs to hold the rotor and see if they all screw down the same amount. Move the rotor back and fourth to see if it is flat or if will move at all.

I did not know you were 80. I have a bad back and tires are the worst. I put a 1x2x10 inch or so board on both sides and roll the tire up on the. If your car is to far up in the air it would be difficult to put a tire on with the suspension hanging at an angle. I think the rotor is not seated. count the threads showing on the studs showing, they should be equal.
