questions for dyno guys
What is the proper gear to do the pulls on? I have an auto 4L60E. When we tried to do the pulls in D or third the car would downshift. I don't know for sure if it was kickin down or kicking out the lock up convertor. We raised the starting RPM of the pull to keep this from happening and got one pull. Then we did a pull in second. The numbers were higher for the pull in D than for the pull in 2.
Also, I've heard some people say that they should ask about rear gear ratio when doing dyno pulls. Is this true? I wasn't asked.

On an auto third is your 1:1 ratio which is what you want for dynoing. A higher numerically rear gear has slightly more drivetrain loss if you are trying to figure flywheel HP from RWHP.
