Resonator Elims???
Also, my brother has advised me to put a crossover pipe in as well. Is this necessary, or advised?
Thanks for any help. I am trying to fix a corvette with suggestions from my otherwise MOPAR musclecar family. :nonod:

I eliminated my resonators on my '87 with the Mid-Am kit. I can't say it made it run any better really but certainly not worse. It does sound really cool now and the back end view that other drivers see behind you is vastly improved. I painted the pipes with Hi-temp flat aluminum paint and the surrounding panels with Krylon semi-flat black. Looks REALLY good, IMO.
I can't comment whether or not the performance issues apply to your '94 however. I don't know so judge for what it's worth.

THEN, I took off the resonator off and installed straight pipes in its place. The sound was great. Took it to the track expecting 13.5 @ 105. NOT!! Could not break 14.0 and never got it over 100 and that was only once at 100. Put resonator back on (thank god I didn't throw it away) and 13.8 and 102 was back. That's my story. Italked to a local tuner and he said when I removed the resonator I lost about 30 hp. I AM A BELIEVER!!
If all you are looking for is sound then go ahead but just remember your are losing HP.

I will be trying out the JCL Spiral Baffles in place of the resonator.
If this test proves positive, there will be a group purchase of them most likely from ECS.
I'm wondering if the stock chip just doesn't like exhaust changes. I know I didn't loose 30+ HP. That much loss in performance all at once you would certainly feel without taking it to the strip. Maybe my ADS chip made the right changes to the A/F to compensate. Maybe my cam liked a more open exhaust. Or maybe the '96 stock ECM is more complicated not liking exhaust enhancments. I can't say for sure if I gained or lost a small amount of HP but not enough to feel either way by eliminating the resonators.
