Look carefully and you can see the part that is stuck in the crank shaft. I have tapped it with a hammer and used a big *** screwdriver with a wrench. It is in there tight. My question is will the HB puller do damage to the threads in the crank shaft. Thank you all I put the harmonic balancer on my L98 . I hit a speed bump. The center of the harmonic balancer tool is in the crank shaft very tight., engine is in the car. Do any of you have an idea o removing it without taking the motor out of the car. Thank you
I am wondering if a socket with flank drive might be able to grip the tool.
I purchased a set of extraction sockets. Should be here in a couple of days. Thank you all

Reason: more information
I think you are correct. But, I am laughing. Because, I just yesterday bolted the engine back in place. And I may have to remove them again. One step forward two steps back, LoL

I will take a picture. I have a video. Could not get it to load. The part that is stuck is the rod that is threaded into the crank and the shaft the press nut is threaded on to force the balancer on the end of the crank shaft. I thought I left some end play. Not enough I guess.
I'll do pictures tonight
Shouldn't be too tight in there. If you can get needle nose plies in there it'll turn right out probably. Mine got stuck a few times but came right out. Even a strong magnet might grip it enough to loosen it up.
