Back up light switch short, backup camera
Camera is working perfect, turns on and head unit switches to camera view when ZF6 is put into reverse, closing the backup light switch
Issue is both backup lights aren't working anymore. They were, but have since stopped. Tail lights also don't appear to be turning on when I pull the plunger light switch? Or they are coming on very dimly? Also the license plate light isn't lighting up either with the plunger light switch pulled out.
headlights operate normally with plunger light switch pulled out. Side market lights were illuminating correctly when put into reverse.
Camera was wired in parallel with one of the back up lights. Green hot of back up light wired to hot power for camera, as well as hot power signal that goes to head unit to switch view feed to camera. Ground black of back up light wired to ground of camera.
I disconnected all that though and the backup lights are still not turning one when put into reverse.
Using a multi meter, measuring at the bulb socket, I am showing a short between the black and green wire, 0.5 ohms
Both bulb sockets show this. This is with tail light harness pictured completely disconnected, the harness that feeds out of the cabin near the passenger tail light.
Both back up lights were turning on correctly prior to the head unit install. Not sure if this is related?
Only suspect there is the brown light switch control wire that I connected to the head unit to "tell" the head unit the plunger light switch was pulled out..
I am confused and at a loss
Any tips?
