Jesse- Two questions.

1. Are you using an internally or externally balanced rotating assembly? If external, what balancer will you use to clear the front crossmember?

2. More importantly, what color are you going to paint the block?

Good luck, should be a monster!

Why are you using the orange RTV (???) on the oil pump mounting surface of the rear main cap???

that would be me putting on just a smidgen of rtv on the pump mounting surface just to take up any imperfections in the mounting surfaces

Wow Jesse, It's amazing how you can do all that work on your car this weekend and still have time to reburn my chip and re-ship it out to me tonight

Hey Jesse, I noticed that the TPIS MECHANICAL ROLLER CAM CARD didn't have any specs on the VALVE LASH, could you tell me why that is, and could you provide me the lash for intake and exhaust? Thanks, and that is a graet engine your biulding. Incidentely, I'm also building an EFI SOLID ROLLER 406 for my T-56 backed 88 Monte SS. Currently, I have a 355 with modified TPI and the T-56 with an 8.5" 3.73 posi rearend. Did you consider going with a 6.0" rod as well, or did you just consider the 5.7" setup? BTW, I just got a killer deal :D on a SUPER-RAM from a guy in New Mexico, the plenum is 2 years old, and the runners are brand new. He is a 4th GEN F-BODY guy, and wanted to use it with the very rare LT-1 base, but couldn't find one. He got the unit for free, so he really wasn't looking for the "Kings ransom" that SR usually demand. Long story short, I got the SR plenum and runners $350, that right, $350 :):):). I already have a fully ported Edelbrock base, and I will port match the runners to it, and and the plenum to the runner D ports, like you did. I also have an ACCELL/LPE PRO-RAM Victor Jr style EFI intake, that I will also bolt on this 406, just when I want to go ROAD RACING, or want the upper rpm HP. Any help you could provide would be great.

6SSPD,

I need to call about valve lash settings. Corky seemed to know/but we wanted to double check.

350 for a SR is a steal! :skep: You should be ashamed! :D

I DON'T want this to start a debate. Its Corky's and my opinion that 6" rods are not worth the trouble they inevitably bring. With the 6" rods you put the pin into the oil rings. This in turn makes for eventual oil consumption problems. Look at how many people here with 6" rods complain of oil consumption. :yesnod: Again this is our opinion, others may not share that opinion, that is their choice.
