Hi guys this is my first post on here but I've been having some issues with my 1986 c4. This past summer I did an entire ignition tune up including new distributor, plugs, and wires, as well as recently having replaced my fuel pump and fuel filter. This being said I am having some kind of what I assumed to be a fuel issue due to the car starting to run oddly out of the blue the other day. I started it up and as soon as I got driving I could tell that I had some loss of power and while holding the accelerator at a constant position I can hear the engine flutter as if it is only firing 7 cylinders and is trying to fire the 8th. Also recently over the past few weeks I've been hearing a ticking sound coming from the engine bay which has been incremental with rpm but only audible at around idle, and I presumed that it might have been an injector starting to go bad. The moment it started acting up the ticking stopped being audible so I figured that it may have been a bad injector. To be sure I ohmed out my injectors and found them all to still be at either 14 or 15 ohms, which is a little low because I believe they should be at around 16 ohms. I also listened to each injector with a stick held to my ear and could still hear them all ticking. Let me know what you guys think as of right now I'm thinking its probably a clogged injector but I don't know how to explain the intermittent ness of the misfire and would assume that it would just fire 7 consistently. Maybe that one clogged injector is just leaking as well? let me know any ideas you have.

I'm having the same problem, just had the aluminum heads resurfaced, valves rebuilt, now I'm chasing a new misfire problem that sounds like yours... new plugs wires distributor, fresh oil, etc... now I start the car and its a random misfire, gonna put a fuel pressure gage on it sometime this week to rule out FPR, hopefully someone thats come into this problem responds, cuz I'm just throwing money at parts at this point...
Since the ignition system was the last thing you touched I would go back and make sure all of the connections are correct. Especially the plug wires. Loose plug wires will give a click/snap sound.
