Default engine cooling fan

I know that this comes up every once in a while. sorry
drivers side head- engine water temperature shows up on information center
Passenger side head - cooling fan switch, correct?
The switch. is it a blade or does it look like a knock sensor. The wire going to the sensor, passenger side has a blade. But, the sensor I installed looks like a knock sensor.
Intake manifold Coolant temperature sensor
I went into the SM and found it a couple of days ago
Searched "Cooling fan switch" got 39 hits today same search 13 hits WTF am I doing wrong?

Thank you All

WVZR1 The Lol was not about the year. I did not realize I didn't put the year in the subject or text. It's an 89. The real question I have is why there seem to be two different configurations for the fan switch. one that looks like the knock sensor and one that is a single blade. No offense meant to anyone.

An '89 would have the coolant gauge sender in the right head and generally is a 'spade', the switch for the AUX Fan (if equipped) would be in the left head and be a 'button head' similar to knock sensors if it was OE/GM. There are likely switches for AUX Fan that do use a 'spade'. The buyer needs to know what they've bought. The only difference '85 is location of the senders, '86 - '89 the locations are the same.

WVZR-1 Thank you for getting back to me. See my problem is. I have had the car for several years and replaced the components we are discussing. The wires going to the switch, passenger side, and the temperature sensor, drivers side have blades. When I looked up new ones to purchase. The one in the passenger side looked like it had a button head. Both use a single wire. So I am guessing the shape is not an issue. Thank you again.

If you know the brand/part# of what you've bought I can likely ID them for you. If they're not installed now there's maybe enough information on the temperature probe to ID them also.

*** I've got an engine harness you inquired about. I'm reluctant to sell to someone that seems confused. Are you still interested in the engine wiring harness? M6 w/C68 ATC.

WVZR-1 thank you for the suggestion. It's been kind of a weird experience with this build. Probably because it is so drawn out and I am doing repairs on the 85 and 89. Thank you and the others for you help and patience.

I took a look at the wiring that the other mechanic said is a fire hazard.. I resoldered the two wires that I had repaired and retaped them. I'm good on the harness. Thank you.

Have a great day
