Default 85 power steering brace

Anyone know where this brace goes. I have been under the car a bunch and have no idea. Some have said it attaches to the motor mount but I have talked to other 85 owners and they have said there is no suck bracket on the lower

power steering pump.

I do not see it on the '85-'87 exploded view, BUT on the '88-'91 exploded view....I believe it's #23 & #25! Not intimately familiar with your setup, but I would sure think you could definitely add it to your '85! Hopefully this helps👍

23, 24, 25... looks like the "ear" shape bolt hole on the little bracket has bolt #2 go through it (second hole from the bottom, right hand side of main mounting bracket)

An original '84 & '85 would quite likely have a GM# 14055113 (#1) and the mounting point wouldn't be present for the bracket and brace. If you put your hands on a GM# 14087559 then using the bracket and brace wouldn't/shouldn't be an issue. Nothing earlier than '86 might have had the proper mounting. Was it maybe a TSB for issue with alternator/P/S bracket failures?

***Someone with an '88 - '91 should be able to post where the brace attaches.

It was/is part of a TSB. In the TSB it appears the bracket & brace were in a part #'d kit. GM# 10077573 and it mentioned instructions were included. It was meant to solve a moan from the A/C compressor.

TSB# 87-206 / 87-657-111 Aug '87 release?
