Bushing stack rear shocks fx3 to stock
Thanks in advance for any and all help,
I need the correct stack of washers and isolators going from fx3 to non fx3
Today i'm on shocks tires go for a ride, after all how hard can it be to throw shocks on a 33 yr old chevy ?
Well hans gruber threw me a nakatomi plaza and 1 shock is off the car, the actuator took 2 hours to fish out of the frame so my patience is kinda bitter end.
Dump out the new shock and it has 2 different size isolators and 2 different size washers.
stickers, i got stickers but the installation instructions are multiple choice mostly in german talking what type i have !
Right rear shock off, harness bagged zipped and back in frame,
New rear shocks
Fronts
Multiple choice instructions
Stickers, there german i expected 40 page instructions, 10 for each shock and exacting tolerances & warranty voided if no micrometer used in the installation.
Believe this is the stack but it doesm't really match the instructions
Right ?
Right ?
So the 2 front shock actuators are intact and both adjust rods rotate back and forth to the stops.
the right rear actuator was not installed, is missing the gear but the shock adjust rod rotates back and forth to the stops, it also compresses hard and rebounds fast and smooth.
let you know tomorrow about the left rear actuator and shock rod, the rebound as well as the front rebound.
the whole system will be for sale shocks actuators controller switch every single piece even the rusty steel tube and disintegrated bushings.
Thanks again for your help guys been a long week of installing clutch slave, wheel bearings and brakes all around single handed.
Any tips/tricks on the fuel filter?
Interesting idea by the previous owner to hook the fans up to the ignition. Ive been trying to decide if I want to get both fans to turn on earlier on my 96. I usually have my AC on level 1, but even today in bumper to bumper traffic, 66F outside I was around 210 coolant temp. Hate seeing those numbers creep above 200F.

Personally i didn't like the fans to power up with the key.
1. I turn everything off about 1-2 minutes before the engine is shut down because of start up amps.
i'm not an electric genious but if you think in terms of a circular saw for example, when you squeeze the trigger on a circular saw the light over the workbench dims real quick because of start up amps the saw draws.
So if the fans, ac, radio etc etc are all on when you roll the key to run all those accy's draw start up amps, then they shut down as the key is rolled to start, start has a big draw and finally all those accy's draw start up amps again in a triple whammy to the battery.
(or trying to pick up a rattlesnake twice after it already bit you)
2. with the fans always running you won't hear things like a pulley bearing on it's way out.
