If you've got access to an engine hoist, equalizing bar and a stand, the removal job is a piece of cake. A one man affair in my case and I had very limited room in my "one car wide" garage.

Just take your time. I honestly don't see how guys do cam swaps with the engine "in-car"... After pulling the engine once, I will never hesitate to do it again.

Here's some pics..

Your reasons are the same as mine for pulling my engine the first time: HOT camshaft install, new waterpump, and new Opti.

I was able to clean things that are hardly visible with the engine in place. Having full access to areas that are crucial to oil leak prevention was a big one too. I hate doing things over more than once.

There are 4 bolts (8mm) that fasten the fuel rails to the manifold (right on top of the intake), those are reused to fasten the Happy Hooker to the intake. Again the tool is not needed, but I prefer it. Attaching a chain with bolts can be a bit tricky to not damage anything or finished surfaces.

Removing the flywheel is for a manual...an auto may be able to slide by. Only 6 bolts...use a long screwdriver to stick in the holes and pry against the block-worked for me on removing and installing to torque.

:)
