Does anyone know a good shop that can data log my 1988 C4 in the LA or greater So cal area? I’d also like to add if any members here live locally and know how to do it I’d be more than happy to pay you for your help and services. Thanks guys
cool. rarely do i see people trying to view the data feed from their c4. Its so easy and when you do, it allows you to diagnose issues rather than guess.

I'm kind of close-San Bernardino area-not sure if that would work for you. Have everything for tuning and data logging from early maf to later map and zr1s. Not a shop-just a hobby. Always glad to help!

Hey man I’m definitely interested, I live in the Hollywood area But am willing to make the trek. And do you burn your own chip or who do you use?
I burn my own. Currently using EBL P4 for tuning, but still have everything else. Also a book to read to get an understanding before you dive in.
I know a book may seem old school, but if you have an overview understanding it will all make sense. Also take a look at tunercat for their software. The highlighted def files-click on them and you can see all the tuning tables. You can even download a trial copy with one def file.

Lt1pcmtuning.comThis site has a bunch of links to buy hardware/software. The guy running the site advertises he will burn chips through the mail. I bought a cord through one of the links and used Tunerpro to datalog my 92. It was pretty easy. You just need to find a definition file to tell Tunerpro what you are datalogging. It gets a lot more involved to do tuning. The vendors linked on that site have several links to tuning forums as well. I just haven't invested the hours to figure out the next steps.
Something to keep in mind for Kali smog-with OBD1 we can still tune. But if you have a 1996+ OBD2 then you can't even change fan on parameters now. It will change the checksum and it will fail on Kali smog. Really sucks for all the folk that have already done head cam and retune on OBD2s.
CA only requires smog when you transfer ownership. Luckily we don't have to have smog checks every other year or inspections like more restrictive states.

HUH? If you buy a brand new car you get 5 years without-but after that it's every two years and before you sell it. Only exceptions are for 1975 and older are exempt. Older diesels also no smog-newer diesels have to. So far motorcycles don't have to. Here in Kali it's one of the most restrictive states!
