If your pressure plate is in good condition (the surface) and the flywheel is decent, then you "can" change just the plate (I have many times). If you have a lot of miles 70K or more, then it is probably a good idea to go ahead and get a new pressure plate (which comes with a new throwout bearing). This will get your clutch holding pressure back up to spec as well as get a new bearing in there. You can buy just the bearing, but I would suggest getting the whole plate assembly.
