Default OBDII programming software

OK guys, i have been reading on a few sites that you can actually get a cable that goes from your OBDII to a laptop and has software that lets you do anything anytime you want like fan thermostats, timing, cags, o2 disable, gear correction ect. how much do you all know about this? i would be a lot more willing to soend a LITTLE more extra money to be able to do it myself anytime i wanted as opposed spending 500 dollars to have somebody else do it and then need it done again to get the most power out of my latest mods. does anybody know of sites where i can obtain this kind of software and how much? is anybody running it now? if so how do they like it?

That would be LT1 edit(or at least that's teh latest one I've heard of).

Chris NJ C5 has it(along with LS1 edit), but he owns a shop.

You can do all kinds of neat stuff with it. He's supposed to let me borrow it, but he hasn't brought it over yet, so I don't know all the ins and outs of it.

pcmforless will reprogram for $175.00 and you get 6 months of free updates if you make any other mods. After that, it's $50.00 for a reprogram. So, unless you plan on reprogramming more than 7 times, you may as well just send it out and have it done.

Oops, my bad. You get 60 days of free programming, not 6 months.
