Default 1996 LT4 Timing Chain Replacement

In the middle of repairing multiple oil leaks on an otherwise great running 128,000 engine (valve covers, oil pan, oil filter adapter and all timing chain cover seals) and removed timing chain cover with my son. This is his car. Timing chain has just under 1/2" play but still thinking of changing it out. Looking for a direct replacement and at this point not interested in a heavy duty chain. Information is vague if the LT1 and LT4 timing chain is the same. Checked Summit and the timing chain identified for his car states in the description LT1. Any suggestions? As an added note all the information provided on this forum helped make this endeavor very tolerable.

I have my 96 LT4 apart with only 65k miles. I have the same 1/2" of play.

I want to make sure I am measuring this correctly. I had one side tight and measured off the loose side. Is this correct?

I did the timing chain on my 92 LT1 and was surprised at how much slack is in the LT1 chain. The FSM even states it is 1/2" maybe more. My new chain felt like it was as much slack as the one I removed.
