Replacing my Oxygen Sensors, and yes they are tough to get out. Taking my time, and so far I have both on the driver's side loose...still working on the passenger side. Not much room under there, and having a little trouble figuring out how to disconnect the weatherpack connectors to the Oxygen Sensors. I've worked on earlier C4's more, and the weatherpacks on those are a more simple design. I disconnected one of these somewhere else on this '96, but been a while. The weatherpacks here have some sort of blue colored retainer clip. Anyone know how to disconnect these. My eyes aren't what they used to be, and laying on the ground, the connectors are at a distance where my eyes just can't focus on them very good, and don't want to break them.
Below is a pic of a similar weatherpack connector from a different area on the car. You'll see the blue retainer of some sort.
Thanks!

Pull that blue retainer out....pull it toward you in that pic. Then lift that black tab -the thing that looks like three sides of a rectangle, slide 'em apart.
Thanks very much for the replies. I was giving it a little bit of a feather touch...they did disconnect with a little pressure. I must say these types of parts seem to have held up a lot better on a 96 than an 86. Granted that's a 10 year difference, but parts like this were already so brittle on my 86 close to 20 years ago. Almost every time I would disconnect something like this on my 86 years ago...a few hours later I would be scouring eBay for a new connector...
I hear that about them becoming brittle and breaking! And when you don't know for sure how it comes apart, it makes it all the more frustrating to move forward w/o breaking it.
I wish that there were a catalog for every f'n electrical connector ever used in a GM, Phord, Cry-zler, Hondssan Mitsyota, BMW, Mercedes, POSH-a, Ow-dee.
I've been working on this **** for decades and I still run into connectors that:
IDK how to ID them to replace 'em.
Where to get parts for 'em
Where to get 'em
How to take 'em apart (is this thing stuck w/dirt? Or am I about to break it?)
Dealing with a new connector you've never seen before can slow a job down and suck time, for no good reason. There should be a "connectors resource" book. Or something. Or they should all use the same m-f'n connector!!
Not only do brand and model years use different connector brands/types/styles....one vehicle may use several, which is total BFS, IMO. We got PistenBully's at work that ARE the catalog for connectors. They will have everything from simple un-protected spade and ring connectors, to old skool weather pack, to deutz connectors to Military grade cannon plugs. tp you name it. Ya can't stock ONE...two, or even three styles of connectors...you gotta stock the world to repair anything on these **** boxes. Grrrrr.
