1989 HVAC Issues..
I searched and found a plethora of information, but im still not convinced. If i pull positive wire for 30 or so seconds, the reconnect battery wire, the HVAC system defaults to 75F A/C mode. And it works!!! 75F in 90F weather
is relatively nice. But, I'm not able to toggle ANY A/C temperatures (Or my method is incorrect). And the moment I toggle any form of heat!! I'm able to adjust upwards from default to 90F, but i cannot bring heat temperature down. And now, A/C cannot even be used. I press AUTO and then COLD and it does nothing. But!!! while kept in default (A/C) i can adjust fan speed, but not temperature, and while in Heat (Which works well) i can toggle upwards, but now down. and the A/C cannot be re-selected unless i remove battery cable. So, i went to eBay, and purchased a new HVAC unit, and while the key's in/out (It doesnt matter) ,the moment i plug this rebuilt HVAC headunit from eBay, my blower fan comes on full speed and thats it. The Head Unit's LED is present, but the fan speed cannot be lowered. And NOTHING works on the head unit. I contacted the eBay seller, Gary, replied if the fan stays on it usually.... this?? that?? from what ive experienced my old Head Unit seems to work half assed... but this $400 unit is a foul beat. Would anybody have any input?? In short, i believe the HVAC head unit to be faulty, and that i bought a bad replacement. Any sort of advice is greatly appreciated.
