Default Diff ratio question

Is there any noticeable advantage between the 2.59 and 2.73 ratios?
I’ve got 2.59 and a LT1. Guy wants to sell me a 2.73. Thanks.

There would be very little difference. At 2000 rpm you go from approximately 61 mph to 58 mph. Now if it were the 3.07 it would be approximately 54 mph. Also very little difference in jump off the line.

Of course if it is close to free and you don’t mind the time spent changing it out, why not? 3.07s are around and reasonably priced so personally I would find a 3.07 if I was going to spend the time and effort to change it out.

Ignore the 2.73 and find a 3.07. We have a 3.07 in our car, you would like it.

You'll want to go up between 15-20% to notice any real difference. The 3.09 is about 19% more torque so obviously your RPMs would increase by about 20% and your gas mileage would be about 2mph worse.

If you're gonna do it either way, drop a 3.73 or 4.11. Then you'll be cooking with fire! 🤣

No you would need to go to 3.07 to notice much difference.

3.07s and a 2000-2200 rpm stall TC, and you would be happy with the car's jump off the line.
