Default 86 Blower motor output

Hello all, my AC and heat work fine but the air flow in high is about like low to medium on my newer cars, does anyone have any input or experience regarding what is normal air flow with the AC on for an 86 with the electronic temp control?

I would pull the motor and check the “hamster wheel” for broken or clogged fins

If your motor and squirl cage/ hamster wheel are fine then your evaporator or heater cores are plugged. Most likely with a mouse house. When I changed the motor in my 86 I got in there with a vacuum hose and got the area as clean as I could but the flow is still quite low. Perhaps this winter I will get the cover off the evaporator and get it all cleaned up.

That sounds about normal for an 86. I switched blower motors and it made no difference. The air has to pass through the evaporator coil which is probably clogged with debris. There is no replacable air filter in the system. Mine had a factory foam filter over the coil which disintegrates with age, most of the pieces were trapped in the evaporator. I repaced my evaporator and it made a big difference but it was an expensive fix.
