Hi all, i purchased a 1990 base model vette at auction its missing the BCM are all the BCM's for base model vettes made in 1990 the same? its the L98 with the ZF6 in a coupe. any help would be much appreciated.
TIA
A CCM/BCM if you bought used would display the VIN of the car it was removed from (if scanned) and odometer on your cluster would read the same as the car it was removed from. CCM/BCM is in the car vicinity of the radio. Are both of the connectors still intact for it? I believe a '90 is likely a single year CCM. The VIN and odometer can be erased from a used CCM/BCM by some and both could be reset by 'some'! Your location might matter for pricing.
******Does the car start and run in it's current condition?

the car runs for about 4 seconds with starting fluid the fuel pump is activated by the CCM , do you have a part number for the CCM? the CCM is definitely missing I do have the cable connectors and know where its supposed to be. I just want to make sure I order the right part number as I dont want to be throwing money ay CCM's one after another.
An offering of any CCM/BCM that DID NOT have a label that mentions SER. NO. 16146688 I wouldn't buy. If it has that label and it appears to have been not been molested you might buy. Use that number on eBay should get results. People that know the VATS Resistance of the CCM/BCM already will want more $$$. People that have known 'low mile' also may want more $$. You'll need a VATS Interrogator and patience to resolve the VATS Resistance of the unit or more patience and maybe a different plan.
the VATS has a bypass on the wiring, so key code isnt a problem.
The 'bypass' you mention is for a particular 'key resistance' a purchase of just a random CCM/BCM that's maybe/likely different would require the procedure be redone.
