Any common problem on c4 when the brake lights dont work? I have someone wanting me to look at this problem . Maybe just a brake lite switch ??

When i had no brake lights it was the white wire from the turn signal switch. This wire feeds the brake light switch.

The white wire takes the signal from the brake light switch and feeds it to the blinker switch. But in any case, without it, only the center brtake light will work since it is a separate circuit.

I've put 2 or 3 brake light switches in my 91 over the past 3 years. I've never had total a failure though, just the 3rd brake light going inop.

Two issues I encountered for no brake lights were: 1) there is a connection in the steering column that became corroded and I had a chevy dealership fix it during my route 66 road trip. 2) the bulb sockets have some gunk, "old grease" i believe, that will interfere with the connection and cause failure.

If you still have operational 'directional & hazard' the SLS (Stop Light Switch) would be certainly the first check!
