I just installed a rebuilt differential from zip products 3.54 and I am going through the break in period. I have noticed that when going faster than 70 mph and I accellerate the rear feels like it wants to thrust slightly to the right side and when I leave off the accellerator it sorta shifts back to the left. While maintaining a constant speed the car will drive dead straight with my hands off the wheel. Does this sound like I need a rear wheel alignment? Speeds below 70 it doesn't seem to do this.
Re: Rear end alignment? What do you think? (Lichen_1)
This answers my other post...
If you disturbed the rear camber settings (large eccentric on bottom of the diff) then you need an alignment...pretty simple really. Can't eye ball or it drives like your does.
Re: Rear end alignment? What do you think? (No Go)
I only removed the camber bracket from the differential, and did not losen the bolt to the adjustment washer. So I don't think that I messed with the original setting, unless simply switching the differential may have ofset something what do you thing "No Go"?
Re: Rear end alignment? What do you think? (Lichen_1)
Get an alignment. Have you checked the runout on your rear wheel bearings? How are your rear toe rod ball joints? Bushings? Any or all will make your car squirrely.
Re: Rear end alignment? What do you think? (Lichen_1)
Definitely get the alignment checked. Well worth the money to be sure the car is aligned correctly. These cars are very adjustable and can act quite differently with different alignments in front or back or both.
Next, the "yaw" from left to right when getting on and off the gas usually has to do with rear tie rod ends . Mine did the same thing (pretty severely) when I bought it. I replaced the rear tie rod ends and it cured the problem.

Ok you guys have convinced me, I will definitely get a rear wheel alignment. I just thought of something to check as well that I will do when I get off work. Maybe tire pressure?! I have felt a car do this in the past with low tire pressure, I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.

"h rocks", yes I did inspect those closely and they look like they are in great condition. This car is from Florida, has 45k miles and has always been pampered so I don't really expect anything to be wrong with wear and tear on the rear end; however, I could be wrong.
