Window regulator upgrade question
The day has finally come! My upgraded window regulator came in the mail today. The plastic mount on the old passenger side ribbon model had cracked in half so there was no salvaging it from what I've read and I decided to upgrade. I'm using the link below for the install and step 12 mentions switching the connector polarity when upgrading the passenger side regulator. Can anybody share some guidance on if that's necessary for an 86 and how to do it without breaking the connector?

I did this last year. If my memory is accurate, take a pin or paperclip and probe under the metal portion. I cant recall if I probed from the front or back side. While you are probing, objective is to slightly lift the metal pin, gently pull the wire. Also, I change polarity bsed on the instructions for my driver's side door. After install the switch operated backwards - so i had to undo that step. Also, note that the regulator assembly I purchased from one of the larger corvette suppliers did did not fit properly in the door. I had to return and order a used original one off of ebay which worked.
