Default 1986 Master Cylinder Eyelet too small

I'm replacing my master and slave clutch cylinders on my 1986 c4. I got the new parts from NAPA and they look identical to what I pulled. My problem is that I cannot fit the eyelet of the new master cylinder around the rod on the clutch pedal. It appears at closer look that the old one is slightly wider. Anyone else run into this and any advice? Thanks!

Update - I cleaned up the old master and put it back in. Then, replaced the slave cylinder. That went well - tip - be sure to tighten hydrolic line to spec before bleeding to avoid fluid splattering in your face! I filled the cylinder with fluid first and was surprised how much it took, then reverse bled and then bled with clutch depresses, system works fine now and there seems to be no leak. Still deciding if I should bore out the eyelet on the master or return it and try and find a correct one. A nice surprise is that I had a grind when going into 4th at higher rpms and that seems to be corrected. I do still have an issue with slipping out of 4th (but not 4th OD).
