Default Installing Coilovers/Removing FX3

I'm planning on installing coilovers on my more "daily" corvette that has FX3. It currently has a service light for the ride control and I'm assuming the system doesn't work anyway. The last time I did this was on a track car that is missing most of the harnesses so in a more stock configuration I wanted to know if just removing the bulb is what most people do. Or is there another way to delete/defeat that system?

Depends on the year. On my 1991 I just unhooked the actuators and replaced the shocks. No codes or pulling bulbs. I do know that changed later on though.

You just need to disconnect the ride control computer in the bin behind the driver seat. That is for all 89-95 cars with FX3.

Does removing the ride control computer impact the VSS signal at all? I read that VSS is passed first to fx3 then off to ecm?

Don’t believe everything your read. Especially from people who don’t know what they are talking about.

Wires come off the VSS and then there is a splice 122 and 125 where the signal is sent to the ride control module.

Fantastic... Thank you.

So just remove the shocks, actuators, and computer and no dash lights to deal with then?

I guess 1 more question, the selector switch in the console for fx3, can it be repuposed to to other functions, like purge and arm nitrous?
