Default early C4 A/C panel explain

Hi,
I'd like to know better how the A/C operates.
The MAX makes the compressor work at full power. NORM (half the power?).
B/L?
VENT? Only the blower without the compressor?
COLD/HOT slider, moves the blend heater core door?
Thanks

The HOT/COLD moves the blend door.

Max setting opens the recirc door in the plenum box, allowing 80% of the airflow to be recirculated thru the cooling coil and the remaining 20% of the airflow from the outside air intake (by the windshield cowl opening)
B/L is bi- level meaning air is distributed at two levels, the dash vents and the heater vent,
Vent and Hot / Cold you are correct.

Defrost also runs the A/C if it's above 40 degrees ambient.
