Default 94-96 MAF Sensor Outer Diameter Spec

Hey all,

Can anyone with a 94-96 LT1 or LT4 really quickly measure the outer diameter of the MAF sensor were the intake ducting slips over?

I am trying to figure out if an 86-89 TPI MAF would correctly interface with the ducting that goes on either side of the 94-96 MAF sensor.

Thanks!

Bump!

Hoping someone might be able to take a few min this weekend to take this measurement!

I would but I don't have a 94-96 MAF car nor the parts to measure the dimensions from!

Thanks!

How about a new on the shelf at a 'local' supplier?

I was gone over the weekend, or else I'd have already gotten this measurement for you. I'll grab it first thing in the morning.

To my eye, it appears to be right at 3-5/8".

Needs to be a bit more accurate than your 'Eyescope' to be of value to the OP!

Yeah, I totally get your comment, but I'm unfamiliar with these clamps and how to remove/install them...

...so I did my best to give the OP some hopefully useful data. I just very carefully re-measured the MAF housing inlet diameter, looking straight down from above, and I'm confident that my eyescope reading of 3-5/8" is within a 1/16". If the OP's MAF diameter is significantly different from this (say, 3-3/8", or 3-13/16", or...), then my measurement should be of value to him.

OEITKER clamp and in the past this ( OEITKER P/N 16700092) was mentioned to be correct but OEITKER has some very interesting options and dependent on the vendor minimums might not be an issue. The 293 style from them looks interesting.

This is a 7+ year old discussion

A different part number mentioned in that thread seems to be available from many vendors as inexpensively as $1.39 plus of course the ship. Do your own research!

Thanks @WVZR-1 for the info. Over the several months I've been skulking about here on the C4 forum I've been building a "Helpful Corvette Links" database on my computer, and just added the above links to it for future reference.

Thanks again.

Anyone could check diameter of the MAF with a 'local' - that sensor has GM applications through probably 2004 and a person might find both metallic and plastic/composite versions of it. OE from GM I believe was serviced with clamps earlier years. Later I doubt that.

Okay found a local O'Reilly that had a 1995 Vette MAF sensor in stock. Bad news is that the dimensions don't match the 1985 sensor that I have. Good news is that it doesn't appear too far off.

I measured 3.65" inlet and outlet OD of the sensor.

In decimal form, my measurement of 3-5/8" equals 3.625" so I was off by 0.025" (25 thousandths of an inch) -- not bad for a 70-year-old eyescope.

Potentially trying to use that late MAF on your MAF L98? Curious if so, as my LT1 Fleetwood Brougham has the same.
