I just bought a 93 C4 and found the ignition switch sometimes will not turn all the way to unlock and jams. I can't turn it either direction without making many tries then suddenly it goes to unlock. Also sometimes I try to start it and the dash lights come on but it does not crank over. Flipping back and forth it finally cranks and starts easily. It is a base coupe with automatic trans. What could be the problem here? Where should I start? Is there a certain procedure for switching off? Like foot on brake or steering wheel must point straight ahead? Bought this last week and not sure what previous owner could have done to it. Some of his work has been found very questionable. Example- repainted entire car but did not mask off door key slots, 3rd brake light or back up lights. This is my first Corvette since 1972 so I hope someone can help me here.
This is my first post on here so don't be too hard on me please. I did try searching for this but not real familiar with the search system on here. Thank you Added: 93 Coupe base with automatic trans.
