looking at a early 90's C4 with 50k miles with Doug Rippie Motorsports package. Do not know what is all included with it but owner is somewhat sketchy as particulars. Said it is 450 package with handling, clutch, cooling and shock upgrades. Does this package really contribute to the value? Original package price was over $20,000 so does the vehicle retain any of that value. Car is in exceptional shape otherwise. What would be a suggestion as to the worth of the vette. Any input is appreciated. THANKS
The old saying goes, the worth of the vehicle is exactly what two people agree it is. I would pay more for those types of upgrades, some people would be inclined to pay less. But, don't let it interfere with the value of weatherstrip seals in good condition, interior and electrical in good condition, proper maintenance, mechanical issues, paint etc.

It is a good package, the car probably has his coil over kit so it will outhandle most any other car. It should be worth about $2,000 more than a stock 90 Vette. IF it all checks out it would be a good buy. I believe they also made the Blackwidow ZR-1s which are on par with Lingenfelters' and Callaway cars. I hope this helps. Remember they didn't make much of these so they will eventually be worth more. Did you get more information? What is his asking price? Good find. Cheers, and good luck.
The C4 is a 94 and 50K for miles. Seems to be in very good shape. Has the upgrades previously mentioned and he is asking $14000. I have seen stock units of the same age and miles and condition for under $10 grand so trying to verify the retention value of the DRM package. I am looking for a toy without breaking the bank. He is already the 3rd owner and wished he could supply more support of the DRM package and updated service records. Owned several early 60 cars in the past and do not want to spend the money for getting into that era. I am thinking of springing for this unit. THANKS.. I appreciate your input.
Is the DRM package documented or a 'Buyer Says' thing. I believe any year done by DRM could be validated as to the particulars of the package by VIN. Have you reached out to DRM?
*** Post the SPID label on the console door back-side and let some comment on the options as it left BGR?
Supposedly it is documented per seller. I have not seen the particulars he has to verify but the first thing is I checked with DRM. They have records dating back to 2008 and very little prior to that. They would check via a persons name that originally purchased the package but I do not have his name to check. I will proceed via that intention. Thanks for your input.

Being a 90, I would doubt somebody post 2008 would have sent it in for a 450 package. Is this a L98 or LT5 car?
The 450 package would have been a 383. The suspension work would have included coilovers, upgraded brackets (Trailing Arms & Camber) and usually a brake kit of some sort. There was one floating around years ago for sale with low miles for about 12k. Might be the same car as it was a 94 as well.

I am doing more checking on this unit for DRM verification. Thanks for response
The price is a bit high, but after verification you could offer in the $12K ballpark. Pictures of the suspension and brakes can verify some of the components. As was mentioned earlier if not a ZR1 - LT5 then it is most likely a 383 stroker L98 as was also mentioned earlier. A picture of the heads could verify if it is stock or aftermarket heads...good luck, I totally agree with you the prices of earlier muscle cars can be very steep this C4 is much more affordable or as they say a lot of bang for your buck, certainly there are not many cars that can handle as good as this car.

Thats what I am looking for....BANG for the BUCK!!! I am doing more research on the car to verify what it truly is. I would like to purchase in mid $11s if possible. Thanks for the response.
Just don't sleep on the deal and find out someone else has snatched it out from under you. A 450hp, 383 in a 3,250 pond car that sits just 3.5 inches off the ground with upgraded world class suspension is very hard to beat especially at an autocross track or road racing... I have lost deals over the years by waiting to long to pull the trigger, I'm talking by my example for showing up in the afternoon to only find out someone else came that morning and paid the asking price, it burns, lol... Good Luck.
A DRM package is fantastic.. They did most of their R&D during Corvette Challenge years. With good tires, and driver, it will hang with most cars on the street that are considered bad ***..
Howdy Dowdy, Did you get more info? Did you get to do a test drive? If it is the real deal you should feel the difference from stock easily. Good Luck.
