HotCam & Emisisions
I have an LT4 that I want to put a HotCam in.
Will the car pass emissions w/ the HotCam?
If I port match the intake & port & polish the heads, will it still pass emissions?
I have collector plates, so don't have to worry about emission testing, but if I ever move, I don't want to have a car that I can't get to pass.

Re: HotCam & Emisisions (Polar LT4)
As long as you leave all the emissions equipment in place you can still pass. It might take some careful tuning but it can be done.

Passing emissions should be no problem.

Yep.
Just had my Dad's car tested recently.
Here's the results:
Gas Standard Reading
--------------------------------
Nox 553 149
HC 71 7
CO% 0.39 0.01
I am sure that porting the heads will not make much of a difference.

Ohio's e-check is a joke compared to the stringent requirements that some other states have. High limits, and lack of NOx testing make it easy to get through Ohio's E-checks.
There are no NOx emissions testing at Ohio E-check, so you could just throw a real-lean chip in there and pass Ohio's E-check.
Also, You can get collectors plates in Ohio and avoid e-check altogether if your car is considered collectible (a Corvette is), you put less than 5000 miles a year on it, and have another car to use as your daily driver.
Does anyone know if other states offer this collectors exemption as well?

What's a E-Check? Nothing like that here in "God's Country", i.e. western Wisconsin :hurray:
