Cruise Control Issue
I'd like to share a bit of knowledge that may perhaps help someone in the future. A few weeks ago, my CC quit working. After checking the fuse, I came across a completely rotted vaccum line at the CC servo (see pic below).
I replaced both lines. I suggest removing the battery in order to route the bigger line through the firewall and into the cab and to the brake pedal. I cut the tip of the hose at an angle in order to squeeze through the hole. Also, got some oil on the tip to ease the process.
The smaller line is cake.
To my surprise, this fix did not get my CC back in working order. Like they say, sometimes when it rains, it pours.
After further research here in the forums, I found the following thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1571517158
Refer to post #8. With this information I decided to pull all my pedal switches. Unlike post #8, my switches were not dirty. However, One of the switches was not making contact, thus not closing the circuit and tricking the CC into thinking the brake pedal was depressed. I bent the contact slighty so it would touch and that fixed the problem.
Bonus fix: During this time, my car also threw a P0300. After driving the car for about 100 miles, it appears the rotten vaccum line at the CC servo was causing the code. With that in mind, I checked all my vaccum lines. They are good, but the EVAP line is pretty rotted, and the PCV hook up and the throttle body is loser than I would like.
Anyway, I hope this info is valuable to some of you in the future.
