Default Remote

My c4 has aftermarket remote control for the doors. That hasn't worked for a month now. 1 remote control closes on all buttons and the other does nothing at all. Does anyone know where I could logically find the module?

The remote installed on my 1990 was a Viper and the module was under the driver's side dash. After about 25 years it started acting erratically, would work sometimes and sometimes not. Long out of warranty and nobody would work on it. Finally I gave up and had it removed. Life was much easier without it!

I hoped there would be a learning button and only the remotes need new learning.
I checked the dash yesterday but I cant find anything.

Aftermarket security and key fob controllers are generally installed "logically" somewhere under the dash. I installed mine on top of the trans tunnel behind the climate controller in my 1989.

It could be anywhere though, but most likely somewhere behind the dash.

You're probably going to have to just dig around.

Goodmorning,
I found the aftermarket console in my driver side door. It was full of water and didn’t work, so I ordered a new similar one. I can’t get it running because I am a total powernoob.

The power lock switch is working, and it has two relays.

FOAB 14B192-AA

The 86 and 86 are bridged.

The old module one was wired like this:

· Red + yellow/black + yellow together on red.

· Black + orange/black + orange together on black

· White/black on relay 85

· White on other relay 85

The new one came with this instruction. I used figure D because that seems the same like the old one was wired.

I think I installed it exactly the way it was … and it seems good but doesn’t work. I found another schedule of relays in a power lock and they are wired totally different.

· Am I using the wrong schedule ?

· Are the relay broken ?

· Are the relay wrong connected ?
