I have a 1989 C4 the anti lock brake warning is displaying.
The ABS does not engage when you first drive off and stays off.
HELP where do i start looking to resolve this issue. I looked in the fuse box to try and find if there was an issue.
But i can't seem to work out the correct fuse if indeed there is one.
I have no idea where to look to sort this out.
HELP HELP HELP.
Your ABS pump is located behind the drivers seat. If you have a coupe it is under the storage door and if you have a convertible its below that speaker. There are 3 relays you can check , one for the module and two are mounted on the ABS pump itself.
OP - Is your '89 a RHD conversion? Do you have an '89 FSM(Factory/Field Service Manual)?
Poster #2 that doesn't look to be an '89 Fuse Block. Where is that image from? Maybe an '86 Owners Manual?
This I believe correct for an '89.
Yes mine is a copy from my 1986, If the fuse panel changed in 1989, I was not aware of that, I kind of guessed the panel would have changed in 1990 when they changed the interior though. sorry for the confusion.
I have checked the brake fuse but is ok. So i have ordered a ABS module from Rock Auto. But the relay is out of stock will have to keep checking there web site when it is available. Maybe the the module will sort it out when it arrives from the US.
My car is still LHD.

You can actually check a relay , if it's working or not. There are videos on Youtube that explain how to check them.
