I can tell you, it's not very easy. You have to have the right tools to get to it. I had to remove the A/C compressor (just unbolted it and move it out of the way) and the plastic wheel cover on the driver side to make the job easier.

LT1 plug changes are not easy, but they are very do-able, just takes patience and a thorough knowledge of profanity. #8, 7, 6 plugs are the only ones that are 'challenging' to get to. About a 4 - 5 hour job the first time, easier after that. :yesnod:

'92 a good choice. Speed density engines, whereas 94 - 96 were Mass Air Flow engines. Same hp though. 10 more ft-lbs of torque for 95 -96 though... (340 ft-lbs)

:lolg: :lolg: :lolg: That's a great one!

Ok, as far as what I think of the 92, well, duh! I love mine. Out of the box, it's quicker light to light than an auto mostly because of the rear end gears. Non-performance autos have a 2.73:1, ZF's come with 3.45:1 ratios. If you're proficient at a manual tranny, the MN6 is the only way to go! :yesnod:

'93 was the first year of the 10ft-lbs jump. That was one of my buying points. :D

Auto

Have you had a lot of optic spark problems???
The Opti Spark in our cars are very tempermental when water is intorduced into the area. They are also a real pain to replace and quite expensive. There are a lot of other things to say about the particular piece, best left for when you are in need to replace it. In general...don't get it wet!

Is it hard to change the plugs and wires on the LT1????
My first time took me about 2 1/2 hours, and about 16 busted knuckles...but it can be done. If you do get around to it make sure and use an anti sieze compound on the threads, dielectric silicon on plug/boots, remove the inner skirt for easier access and use a fuel line on the end of the plugs to start them.

Also make sure and get a good plug, but I won't touch that now either...a firestorm of controversy will ensue.

Whats your general opinon of the 92 Vette????
One of the best bang for the buck! I love mine.

Why are the speed density systems supposed to be better than mass airflow?

I didn't mean to imply they are better than MAF cars, but some see it that way. My '95 is MAF and I like it.

This really only applies to tuners and self tuners. I have a SD car too in my '93 and I am finding it a little difficult to do some tuning. But, it's not like we have schools on this stuff available. I'm sure the engineers can argue the pros/cons for each system for days on end. :banghead:

For the wires I have found that it is easiest to remove the tensioner. You can then get right at the left side connections to the opti.
