Oil temp gauge problem
I have a 96 LT1 that the oil temp gauge is no longer working. It was fine but recently the analog gauge stopped moving and the digital gauge reads lo. I'm new to the C4 world so pardon my lack of knowledge. I have the FSM and it dosnt look like that hard of a repair. Multiple sources have given me the impression that new aftermarket sensors all come from China, regardless of brand, and they don't work very well. They also have a wide price range, I have found them from $13 up to $80. Is my best bet to try and find a original used sensor? Or are the rumors false and a new aftermarket sensor is actually ok?
